Did they ever sort out how Jaheira and Minsc radically improve their attributes? The dexterity and constitution were always mysterious to me

    Well, let's consider that in AD&D you can't easily change your attributes , so any given explanation would have to be either quite fantastic ( "I 've increased my abilities though hardwork and magic") or rather silly ("So I've stumbled upon a couple of books of attribute increase"). Or you could use some poetic license, ignore the rules and consider that they have naturally increased their skills adventuring throughout the sword coast.

    I believe the answer was, "I worked my ass off for 20 years as an adventurer to be this way!".
