Harper's hold door is closed

Hi guys,

I did early in the game the quest to rescue a thief who was held prisoner in Harper's hold, and after that, the door to there was closed.

I am now in Chapter 6, Jaheira has gone, and come back again, and asks me to go with her to the keep.

I can't enter there, so I can't do the quest :neutral:

Is there anything I can do? I googled and found a 7 years old post about the same, but no clue on how to solve!

If I don't do that quest, will Jaheira stay with the party?

    Is there a wizard to the east of the hold named Xzar? If so, try talking to him.

    No, there isn't! I already did the Xzar quest earlier un the game, rescued a bird. Now I'm at chapter 6 and there is no way in

    What happens if you try to open the door normally? Is it locked? Magically locked? What is displayed in the log about the door?

    It's magically locked :disappointed:

    My guess is that some variable hasn't been set correctly, for whatever reason. I don't really know which variable would govern the door and Galvarey , but I found a post on the forums that happens to list the variables relevant to Jaheira's questline. You could try tweaking them, either with the cheat console or with EEKeeper, and see if you can fix the problem that way.

    Thanks, I will try to get the variables current values and tweak them a bit! I'm in android so only chance is tweaks and no ee keeper.

    You can use EEKeeper to edit saves even with Android if you have access to a computer. Unfortunately I can't find an English guide, there's one in French however. I could translate it if you want to but it's pretty lengthy

    Thanks, I think I won't have problems with French, google translate is my friend.. hehe. I also found this program, "varchecker", maybe this will be easier. I will try this week.

    Too much variables to touch, very difficult to fix! I changed lots of variables, but nothing else than repeat dialogues, etc.

    I ended up changing JAHEIRAHARPERPLOT to 4, so that she doesn't complain anymore about going to the Harper Hold, according to http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/Jaheira.php. Also in that page, It appears that is a rare bug in the script, as it is mentioned, but not solved.
