Carry over stuff ?

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
got myself SoD the day it came for steam , but hadn't yet the time or the character to do an all trilogy run , which has changed :)
im just mopping up the last maps of BG1. and was wondering what npc's do carry over.
right now they ALL stand happy and alive in front of the Friendly arm , i have a crap load of gear and money so i could give them all somewhat decent things, which is useless if nothing would carry over or half of them are gone.

so should i just keep the gear for my Main squad (Imoen , Coran , Dorn , Me, Viccy) stuff some spare armor in and just take them as they come, or can i spread that gear around, want to make a most complete run as possible for my trilogy (explore every corner, do every companion quest if there are any,kill every kobold that kind of stuff)

    so there are a couple dropouts ? guess i just take a stash of gear with me then and see what comes.
    also what a bummer , he allready has a THAC0 of 0 hitting 3 times a round , real elfen beast.
