Race-hybrids...

BaldurspawnBaldurspawn Member Posts: 66
I modded BG, so I can in theory play a half-orc sorcerer... but now I wonder if there would even be a loophole in the FR-multiverse for such a thing ^^

Is a orc-elven-hybrid even possible? And if so, possibly magically adept?
What are other possible hybrids? Dwarf/elf? human/gnome?

Couldn't find any info on that :/

I think the general thinking about hybrids in AD&D is that most can't crossbreed or aren't fertile. Humans are the exception. They are the splattered low table of fantasy genetics. Even so, I don't recall any half-gnomes, dwarves or halflings. 1/4 lings. Or maybe that would make them 3/4 lings. What are they a half of, anyway?

Elsewhere, in fantasy literature, it may be possible. In "Prince Caspian" there were dwarves who mated with humans and had children with them. So you have legal grounds to role-play, if you want.

There was an old topic that dug into this, maybe you can find what you need there:
