Bug transitioning from CH2 to CH3

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I'm going from chapter 2 to chapter 3 rather early. After the cut scene plays I'm back in Galen's home but my characters aren't there, and they are nowhere to be found. Has anyone hit this bug and is there a way around it?

    Sounds like a certain bug with the (outdated) BG2 Tweak Pack. You can restore your characters by using the Ctrl+R cheat on their portraits. The BG2Tweaks successor Tweaks Anthology has already fixed this issue.
