Override and spells

If I want to make an edit of an existing item, I simply have to put the changed version of it, with the same filename, in the override folder. But with spells that doesn't work. In the game they remain the same. What am I doing wrong?

    Some spells use additional files(spells, effects, projectiles) that you may need to edit, but you should be able to override a spell by putting a file of the same name in override.

    I must have been doing something wrong. It works now, thanks.
