Trouble with Near Infinity bugging! Help!

Hey there, I've been editing some spells and items with NI and it's an awesome tool, but for some reason I have the following REALLY annoying bugs with it that makes editing and creating new spells a chore.
Basically the issue is that after I save a spell/item and load it next time, its scripting is all messed up. For example I've meticulously programmed what the spell's effect should be each level and now the NI has dumbed lv 8 spell effects into lv 2. It also randomly changes spell effects. Say I have three DIFFERENT spell effects in a spell and next time I open, all three are now identical spell effects! (Btw, by spell level I mean the casting level of a certain spell)
However, I've learned to avoid this bug as it seems to be triggered by certain things, but sometimes it just happens at random. The annoying thing is that if the bug occurs, it messes ALL the override spells/items and not just one.
So what triggers this bug 100% of the time is:
1) Editing any item/spell description text.
2) Using copy/paste. Eg: copy lv 2 spell effects to make a new tier.
3) Adding too many spell effects into a spell level (like 12+).
Anyone else experiencing something like this?

1. What NI version are you using? You can find it out in Help -> About Near Infinity.
2. Does NI detect the correct game? The game is displayed in NI's window title or in Game -> Game Properties...
3. Is Options -> Ignore Overrides disabled?
4. Are you working in a BGEE+SoD installation from GOG or Steam which has not been modmerge'd? In this case you can't make changes to the dialog.tlk.
5. Does the debug console show anything after saving, modifying or reloading resources? You can open it via Tools -> Show Debug Console (or Ctrl-D).
6. Did you set an incorrect charset via Options -> TLK Charset? I recommend setting it to "Autodetect" for the Enhanced Editions or if you're playing the English version of the original games.
Still staying away from that dialog.tlk though.. but its ok since it doesn't really affect the gameplay.
