Multiplayer Mac Windows compatibility

Hello,
Trying to run a multiplayer run with a few friends.
One or them is on a Mac. We are physically on the same spot using the same network, but the Mac player can't see the created game.
He has BGEE, and the rest of us also SoD. Could that affect the failure to link?
Or is it a operating system incompatibility?
Any takes?
