Splash Screen Stuck

All it ever shows is the latest news and continues to say, "Getting Download Info..." I tried to reinstall the game because I was having trouble with an existing install.

Never moves any further. Turned off firewall, no dice. Nothing's working. Even re-downloaded the installer, "BGEEInstaller.exe" and that didn't help.

I am effectively without the game. Haven't played in a good while, and it appears it may continue.
