How odd they still haven't fixed this with 2.6! How did this downgrade even happen in the first place? It's as if we were back in the old days were sound files were compressed for the sake of disk space...
My impression from their vague responses back when the issue was reported was that they downgraded the voiced lines intentionally. Maybe to match sound quality with the voiced lines from the original game? I don't think they accomplished that goal though.
I can't remember when, I but asked once and the answer I got was that they used the compressed files from the mobile release to save space. Why they haven't reverted back I don't know, but the original voice files are much clearer than these atrocities. I am just glad we have you to fix it for us, otherwise it would be unplayable for me.
I think space was a more Google/apple problem as mobile developers weren’t allowed “excessive” hard drive space. Which I think now those restrictions are essentially lifted. Hopefully Beamdog can implement HQ sound and art now.
