I can't find Scar of The Flaming Fist

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
when I first met him on the bridge leading to Baldur's Gate I quickly selected options to get out of the conversation as fast as possible and now I think he won't appear anymore because of it. I've checked the bridge and I've checked the Flaming Fist's HQ. Scar offers 2 quests that I would like to complete.

    well depending on what you say, he might not be around, worse case scenario if you told him to go shove it, duke eltan might be hanging out, because in the end he will introduce you to him, so if scar is nowhere to be seen ( the only 2 places he would be are directly inside the flaming fist, or just outside the flaming fist door) then you will have to go talk to duke eltan ( who is in the flaming fist building upstairs)

    to be perfectly honest, you aren't missing out on anything too much if you don't do scar's quests, there is no super secret widgets you get for doing them, just gold/XP and 2 REP points
