No day/night/day gradual transition

I've experienced this several times now but can't quite reproduce it on the fly.
Sometimes, when it's near the change from night to day or day to night, the change is abrupt. One moment it's night, the next it's day (or vise versa) without any of the transition lighting. I only recently started experiencing this and am trying to pinpoint the cause.
Could Unfinished Business or NPC Project mods be the cause here? They're the only ones I'm using.
