Steam BG2EE keeps crashing

So I've played the game now for a few days, but for the last two days the game keeps crashing after like 5-10min of play. Usually it occurs when I try to save, but not always. Any ideas why? Has there been some faulty updates?

    What system are you running the game on?

    Windows 10, I don't really any mods installed, just a few tweaks. The game's been running quite smoothly for the last few weeks, but for some reason begun constantly crashing just recently. Haven't installed anything new. Game-wise I'm in the Beholders' lair for the Unseeing Eye quest.
