Planescape : Torrent npcs as companions for BG2

Why noone ever tryed to do that?

It would not be completely impossible, considering that :

1- BG2 is in the Prime Material Plane and from Sigil anyone can reach any kind of Plane = PS:T cast can come to Faerun.

2- In the " market " in the promenade we have a guy that sells items relater to PS:T, like Vhailor's helm.

Remember the ingame description?

"This helmet was worn by a mysterious warrior named Vhailor. The warrior was destroyed while helping a creature known as the 'Nameless one'. "

---------------------------------------

That sayd, the characters could fit inside BG2 storyline.

Let's say that, after the end of PS:T, a certain succubus sensate start her search for a certain man without a name.

But you know that Sigil sometimes is strange and portals can lead to different locations. What if she landed in Faerun ? ( alone or with Morte / Annah and so on)

What if they follow the bhaalspawn for their own reason. If they are stranded on the Prime Material Plane, probably the only one that can help them find a portal or open a new portal could be none other than Irenicus because his knowledge of magic is immense.

This would open up also a lot of potential dialogues and drama, because PS:T cast is mostly good and now they would need the help of an evil creature.

SoA could end with Irenicus that offer them the information only if they betray the bhaalspawn. They refuse, Irenicus die, and so they are trapped in Faerun and without a true purpose. So they help the Bhaalspawn in ToB while they think another way to escape from the Prime Material Plane.

-----------------------------------------

Now, this is a simple and naive plot that i created in less than 2 minutes. The point is : a beliveable plot could be found. We know that PS:T and BG2 could be linked togheter.

From PS:T game modders could use sprites, sound files, animations and such. Or is it difficult to port ?

So, why noone ever thought of something like that, considering that a lot of us greatly enjoy PS:T ?

( Using original game's files to do mod isn't violation of copyrights, right? )

If you really want to know, there is a mod that adds a bunch of PS:T NPCs but well... unless you want to see Annah, Grace and even Ravel reduced to squeezetoys for a super stud Charname you probably shouldn't install it.

It's called Rjali romance, if you're morbidly curious.

Ah, you mean that someone managed to do a mod and ruin these great characters?

Well, it could be interesting. In worst case scenario, it would be worth a laugh.

Unless the PS:T characters contained in the mod are painfully Out of Character.

( Anyway what i meant in the main post is if someone ever thought of making a mod focused on PS:T npcs as companions )

On a side note, i've read the readme of that mod and i'm scared. ( Readme : " Rjali is an amorous cleric/thief who will not leave your side. You just cannot get rid of her. " )

    This mod adds a stalker?

    ...

I don't really think that installing that mod would be a good idea.

People don't want the NPCs of Torment in BG2 for the same reason that no one wants to see a remake of The Godfather. Some things are just too sacred.

You know you truly want to witness Vito Corleone in the Jack Sparrow getup.

or you know they would not fit in baldurs gate. they were made for planescape torment and they will stay in planescape torment.

Back in the old days there was indeed a weidu mod which allowed you to play with Morte, Nameless one and Ignus. Lemme give it a search here...
