Trap in Prologue

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
So, I have played (the beginning of) Baldur's Gate uncountable times since it was first released. And I just discovered that the cupboard in Candlekeep Inn is trapped. The trap does nothing, but can be found and disarmed by a thief for 25xp. I have a few mods installed (ub, bg1npcs, scs) and am now playing EE but I doubt they added this. Has this trap been there all along and I just missed it?
