Anyway to slow game speed without making the frame rate drop?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Googled it and only found editing the .lua file frame rate to 20 to slow the game speed down. It works for my purposes because I'm playing the game with my girlfriend and she reacts to things happening like a slug on heroin... But I find the frame by frame gameplay really disorientating as I usually play games at 120FPS. My SO has no problems with it (though this is the same person that can't tell the difference between DVD and Bluray) but to me it looks like a slideshow.

Any hope?

    maybe add in more auto pause options?

    Just cast flesh to stone and convince her you can only cure her after the Underdark or something.

    Could do. But I find the slow frame rate disorientating enough.
