Difficulty slider not working in iPad version

No matter what difficulty I set it at, when I level up characters like Minsk and Jaheira, they get maximum hps, which leads me suspect the difficulty is always stuck on "normal" regardless of what it is set at or shows. Spent months playing BG1ee to build,my character to port over to BG2ee; what a horrible bug to discover!
