How do you calculate party level with all these multiclasses and dual-classes?

    I believe it is the average number of exp. points held by an single class.

    In the game? I believe it used to be based on you protagonist level , so a 10th level bard (160000 xp) would find minsc at level 9 ( even though it takes twice as much xp for a ranger to reach that level). I realize that it is a bit different after the latest patch.
    As for level-based monster encounters, I believe it is also based on the protagonist's level, which is the highest one in case of dual or multiclass (even if the original class is inactive).
