Solo Sorc VS SCS Demogorgon

Hello i am playing bg2 as a solo sorcerer with scs installed. I am gonna pick my 8th level spells soon and i am uncertain about choosing pierce shield or not. As i remember, demogorgon is immune spells below level 7 and the only way to decrease his spell resistance is pierce shield. However i dont want to choose a spell just for him. If there is a way to beat him without using pierce shield i would choose another spell. What do you guys suggest? Is it a must or is there another strategy for him?

    Cast from scrolls for Demogorgon only

    Pierce shield and Horrid wiltings are the easiest way to deal with him, yes. 8th level spell choices are a bit weak anyway, best pick after wilting is Pierce Shield IMHO. Scrolls may not be enough, you need two or three castings for it to be effective.

    Planetars and energy blades may work also though it will be difficult.
