Minsc THAC0 not calculating properly?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Hey all, quick question and wondering if anyone else has seen this problem. My lvl 9 Minsc has a base thac0 of 8 (the strength modifier, which appears to be correct, is -3. This brings the total on his char sheet to 5). I have unequipped everything, and made sure to rest so there are no lingering spell effects. WTF is going on? Maybe it's a mod, thats all I can think of. Maybe I can fix it with EEkeeper or something. Thanks for any help or thoughts.

    So... what? Base 8 and -3 from STR is 5, no? What's the problem?

    @Lord_Tansheron A Lv 9 ranger should have a base Thac0 of 12.

    ahh ok. well Ill live with the extra hits and see what happens when he levels. Thanks

    If it doesn't correct by itself you can use eekeeper to fix it.
    Edit: just noticed you've already written it.
