Opening Dialogue of Some Encounters Muted?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I never seem to get the "All I wish is to continue my journey..." audio from Drizzt anymore on first appearance, or the audio "My Spiders... Kill them, Kill them all" from Centeol in the spider cave. It seems that they launch right into their dialogue box. I get follow-up audio, but not the opening audio verbiage. Could this be a bug, something wrong with only me, or a change? They still say what they intend to - I just miss that opening.
