Where is Marek?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Lothander gave me his half of the antedote, and told me Marek could be found in the Elfsong. I've been looking for him there and all over BG, but he's not there, and the game tells me I feel very ill.

    IIRC he's upstairs, a good distance from the stairs.

    He is actually in the Blushing Mermaid upstairs not the Elfsong.

    Thanks. I meant the mermaid, but hadn't noticed the stairs yet. Got him now.
