Spider Form not hitting as magical weapon anymore?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I seem to remember as an Avenger that my Spider form was able to hit through normal weapon immunity, however I just tried it on the Fire Elementals in the Planar Sphere and they were immune to my attacks.

Is this a change with the EEs?

    Sword Spiders natural weapon counts as +1 in the EE and this includes the polymorph version. But Fire Elementals should have more than simple normal weapon immunity - I think they need +2 to be hit. It's Lesser Fire Elementals you should be able to hit with +1.

    Ah, for some reason I was remembering them hitting as much higher than a +1 but that would certainly explain it. Thanks.
