Creature INI files

Can somebody please tell me this... Generally speaking, updated BG:EE, IWD:EE and BG2:EE have identical INI files for creatures, correct? The lists of animations are the same? When an animation does not show in one of the games, when a creature has no avatar, that's because some of the graphics are missing, not because of anything in the INI files? And the animations that fail and crash one game (usually it's because of a missing palette) crash all of them?
Or do some of the games have more correct INIs?
And, what is important to me: will changed INIs work (or fail to work) equally for all EE games? By changes I mean three things: removed sounds from INIs, added custom body fall sounds and footsteps? If they work in BG:EE, is there any reason why they wouldn't in the other games?
