Shapechange Mindflayer Issue

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
Hi, I like changing mindflayer with shapechange with my sorcerer however it doesnt give xp when i kill with intelligence drain. Do you guys know is it a bug? If so is there any mod that fixes it? Thks
