Font used during the narration segments?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Baldur's Gate contains interspersed narration segments that move along the story at critical moments, broken up into chapters.

I was curious about how to recreate this myself, and couldn't find the available font that is used for the text. They also, characteristically use a very artistic large letter at the start of the paragraph.

I'm also curious if the background art is available for download during these scenes.

Is there an engine that can run a custom text scroll like the one on here?

Many questions, however I admire how this is done, and would like to explore creating my own.

    I should note that it is not Sherwood that is used during the narration scenes.
