Wilson the Best Bear Question

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
So, I finally got the bear :)

Now, I only have one question left in life:

If I remove him from the party: will he disappear from the game and be unavailable, will he stay where I left him, or will he go hang out at the Coppernet like so many others?

I want to do some quests with other characters, but do not want to lose my furry buddy.

Actually... is there a list of "after removed from party" behaviour for all the characters? That'd really be helpful...

    I've run with him several times in the past. He can stay where you leave him if need be.

    Thank you verily... Oh no: I have to decide who to remove from the party after I get back Imoen! :(
