Games with well-drawn, realistic visuals to plunder?

Looking for 2D (they will probably be 2D) games with quality models, shading, professional special effects, monsters, structures. Not abstract, not exaggerated, pixellated or swamped with Bloom glow that substitutes for skill. Examples: the Infinity group, Fallouts, Diablo I and II... Maybe, in principle, even Jagged Alliance 2 or Shadowrun. *sigh*

I'm looking for decent image resources to convert and transport to mods for the Infinity games. I've had some success with the Diablos. More names?
