BG2 Help: Can I dual class during character creation?

I wanted to dual class in the bg2 character creation but I couldn't figure it out. I could only see an option to multiclass. Is it possible to dual class during char creation or do I have to wait until after the game starts? Please clarify, thanks!

Nope. Dual classing requires you to be at least level 2 in your first chosen class. At character creation, you are level 1, and are then bumped to level 7 or so after creation finishes.

Although that might not be a bad feature request for BG2...

You can multiclass if you're a demihuman, but if you're human you're stuck with seven levels of your first class even if you don't want them. I could see there being potential for abuse by players building Kensai 2//whatevers, but I imagine the same thing could be done normally.
