Because I have always noticed a striking similarity between the effect of the spell "Weird" looks extremely familiar to the "Hellmouth Spawn" from Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Prophecy Girl"

I preferred the tone of Angel personally(especially the first two seasons) but yeah it was a fun ride.

The first season looks atrocious though, the budget must have been really low

Love both Buffy and Angel, watched them more times than I care to admit. Was really bummed when they cancelled Angel, I adored that last series.
