Multiplayer without connection

Re-downloaded IWD EE on the Ipad recently and I’m noticing that multiplayer no longer works without a connection. I remember the entire BG series always being able to be played as a single-player game on multiplayer mode and being able to create a “session” even without a connection as long as you’ve created the game before. I see that’s no longer the case and you have to re-establish a new session each time. The entire multiplayer screen is different actually. Anyone else seeing this ? I’m assuming this was a deliberate fix
