Does it matter where I install BGEE on my PC?

Windows 7 has some limitation regarding the changing of anything in the "Program Files" directory, these can be usually bypassed by allowing installation as a moderator, but I found out that in some games that are heavily moderated that doesn't always work. Some games solve this by placing a "mod" folder in the "documents" folder, others I have learned to simply not install in "Program Files".

I believe BGEE will not have a mod folder in documents, so will it be better to not install it Program Files?

Windows 7 can be a PITA if you don't adjust all the relevant UAC settings. Better just to install it somewhere like C:\RPG\...

I don't known any games that you need to install on the default path. All my games are installed on a secondary hard drive.

Does it speed up the game to be on a different drive than everything else?

That depends on the drive. If it's a faster drive, or a less cluttered drive, it might help... but for the most part, this game is pretty old and has such small requirements that I doubt it will be anything noticeable.

Sorry should elaborate if you install games in anything other then C:\ I have heard windows could have issues accessing the files in there like save games and stuff. I have always installed my games in C drive for example here is where I have my BGEE installed: C:\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition

yeah it's generally a good policy to just install games outside of program files. I use C:\Games for all my game installs.

I currently have my BG:EE pre-loaded to my secondary hard-drive since I want to keep my SSD raid clear.

I've quite a few games installed on my D: drive and can't see a reason why BGEE shouldn't exist there either.
