Save vs. Wands vs Save vs. Spells for the same spell - difference?

Hi - I was wondering, if you use a wand of fireballs, say, is the save to reduce the effects of this against the Wand saving throw, or againstr the Spell saving throw (as there is a Fireball spelll)? This is often perplexed me!

I believe it saves against the wand, else the save vs wands would never be used.

Tanthalas is correct, as are the wand description texts. Wand effects are generally separate effects created by the wand items rather than references to cast the spells in question. So a fireball/polymorph/paralyze etc cast by a wand will use the wand save. The only exception I've found is the cloudkill wand, the effect of which uses the paralyze/poison/death save. But that is mentioned in its description as well.
