Triggering companion quests

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I've wrapped up pretty much every side quest in SoA, and I'm almost ready to travel to Suldanessellar. But before I do so, I'd like to do all the companion quests for the characters I haven't been using. Does anyone know what the triggers are based on? Is it real time, in-game time, or is it totally random? I don't really have anything left to do in the game, so I'd love to speed things up, even if I have to use the console.

    i want to say usually it's X amount of game days before the quest triggers ( like jan jansen's for example ) so you can try rest spamming to get them to activate,

    im not sure what the console command is to advance game days, and im not sure if that will even work

    but some characters arent based on a day timer ( like keldorn for example, you only just have to go to the government district to get his going )
