What If Original BG (GOG Version) Is Already Installed?

Is the BG-EE installation completely independent from existing installations of Baldurs Gate?

I would prefer to have both installed side-by-side if possible rather than having to uninstall my current one :)

    They're both completely separate things.
    I can confirm this; when I downloaded the game it added a separate shortcut and the file paths had no issues and didn't overlap in anyway.

    So you can Install it right now no problems.
