Stone nuisances missing

I'm playing Heart of Winter and just completed Trials of the Luremaster when it occured to me that I never encountered the stone nuisances in the caves. All the other enemies were there, I think, but not those pesky party killers...

It's not like I missed them much but has anyone else experienced this?

    yup, and it was kind of nice, my assumption was because i didn't have to back track for those gems, so i thought that was the reason why i didn't see them, but i also didn't try to make them appear either, for the fact as you stated that they are pesky enemies
