Cannot deconstruct Giant Skeletons in Mortuary

I'm pretty sure in the original PST you could use the Tome of the Dead (or high INT) to deconstruct the Giant Skeletons in the mortuary.

Every time I try it and go through the motions and finally use the book, a bell rings and the skeleton attacks me.

What am I missing?

    ...nevermind, the right dialog option was hidden on the "show more" options :/
