Soundtracks/music which you admire - the standard which games like nwn can one day aspire to...

i love game music. games, like books, really can create new worlds, and great music can add 50%+ to the creation effect -- so here's my list of great game music which i feel added a huge amount to the personality of the games:

(1 or 2 of these are going to be recommendations of great artists- who i think have the capacity, like bands appointed to compose for James Bond movies, to craft music for and capture the atmosphere of nwn in the future)

1) NWN 1 of course-- i think i actually copied out all the music and just play them in an mp3 player. NWN music is atmospheric and classic and captures that softly elegant, elegiac world which is nwn.

2) Magic & Mayhem -- yes, Afro Celt sound. wow truly epic. M&M is probably Afrocelts best music yet is not really well known afaik. I don't think the M&M ost can be directly applied to the nwn realm - unless some psecial tileset or mod was made for that type of sound, or Afro celt themselves artistically created music for nwn. M&M 2 also had great music :)

3) Pink Martini- it's a well known band. Very creative type, led by their band leader and composer whose name ive forgotten. they compose a whole lot of diverse songs (jazz, japanese, italian etc etc) often in languages which none of the band members speak. A well known piece of theirs is Hang on Little Green Tomato. I think these guys may have the creative potential to craft a song or music to caputre the future of nwn.

4) Diablo 1 - Trent whatsisname? Isn't funny D1 came out at the same time as NWN 1 and WoW and all three have really epic music? D1 music is probaly the most amazing game music ive ever heard. Dark and flavourful? D1's music does not really suit NWN, but maybe a song can be crafted or a mod can be crafted which is suitable.

there's heaps of other great songs. nwn is quite unique really. so not every song or band will suit.

Magic and Mayhem has some really nice music as has Outcast. No One Lives Forever has really good music that only works in that secret agent setting.
