Did they ever add options to disable new features like portrait weapons, map zoom etc?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I watched a friend play the enhanced version a few years ago and I hated the weapons covering the portraits, and the map zoom made me dizzy. With newer patches, are there options now to disable these? Alternatively, are there mods that remove them?
