Multiplayer - can load saved game, but "play" is grayed out for all characters

I was last able to host a multiplayer game on this past Thursday. Tonight, we went to play, and I can load the last save we had, but when I go to choose a character (any of them, pregens or otherwise), the "play" button is grayed out. I see a post about this on Steam forums as well. I've played with a few settings, but so far no luck.

Any ideas?

    Just to post back what worked for me, I moved all the saves except for the one I wanted to play out of the saves folder. In particular, the problem persisted until I moved a save folder related to the "endless dungeons" module, which I had been playing solo.
