Is xp for special quests suddenly boosted on purpose?

On the latest Android of the game my party got a staggering 1.26 million xp for bringing Anatha's remains back to the temple in Kuldahar which I recall used to be much less. I'm playing on normal difficulty so what prompted this increase? Has anyone else seen the same?
