Cockatrice Feather crate

Playing NWN:EE; The crate the cockatrice feather is supposed to be in will not open. I am a wizard/pale master and my henchman is Undergallows (thief). The henchman can't open it and I can't open it, being a mage (I don't have the Knock spell, nor do I know where to get it). Any help welcome.

    I experienced the same issue. I stood next to Callick and he didn't turn red when he attacked me. Once I killed him and his two friends, I spoke to Vengaul and let him go. He walked off (but his friends stayed) and I couldn't open the crate. I reloaded and this time ran past Callick to the door on the right. He turned red and came after me. Spoke to Vengaul after killing Carrick - this time he and his two friends left and the crate could be opened. Hope that helps the next person who gets the same issue
