Character Frozen - unable to move?

Just gone into Chapter 2, spoke to Frederick, but character wont move. Loaded, reloaded, turned off/on to no avail?
Also on another note, is there modifications where you can go up a level, obtain equipent like the baldurs gate game?

    Like to add, I'm on a MAC, although the game has been perfectly running up until today (haven't played in a week)?

    SORTED! Unsure how, but managed to persist (hours) in moving and just happened. So far the only bad glitch experience I've had, so fingers crossed!
