When hasted, if dual-wielding, does the off-hand still only get one attack?

I was just wondering, When hasted, if dual-wielding, does the off-hand still only get one attack? i.e. If you had 2 attacks with the main hand and one with the off-hand normally, would you in fact get *5* attacks with the main hand and one with the off-hand when hasted? i.e. it's the main hand that benefits from the hasting of the off-hand.

I know that if you have a weapon in your off-hand that gives extra attacks (e.g. Kundane, Belm, Scarlet Ninja-To) then you actually get an extra attack with your main hand, so was thinking if might work the same way for haste - could anyone confirm? Thanks

So, when hasted, Belm would give you, in effect 2 extra attacks with your main hand, as well as the off-hand attack?

@Oxford_Guy assuming that you have a base of 1 attack per round (for the sake of this example), I believe your number of attacks would go to 4.

    1-base with main-hand weapon
    2-belm in off-hand
3-belm's equipped ability giving an additional attack with main-hand
4-additional attack from haste. I believe this one is another (3rd so far) attack with the main-hand weapon.

I listed these in no particular order; I don't know when the off-hand attack would occur in the round. Also, feel free to add in additional attacks from pips in weapons proficiency, warrior bonuses of 7th and/or 13th level, and those granted by items like Gauntlets of Extraordinary Specialization

Are you sure? This suggests that the APR bonus from Belm (and for using an off-hand weapon) is not hasted.

I'm pretty sure the extra APR you get from weapon specialisations and fighter levels does nothing for the off-hand, mind.

Haste only gives one extra attack, and I think that attack goes to the main hand. That being said, I've read elsewhere on these forums that the behaviour of haste (and possibly any other effect that grants +APR, such as the blade's offensive spin) functions unpredictably. From what I remember reading, it could do anything from only giving you +1/2 APR to your main hand (or maybe even no bonus at all, can't remember), to giving you +2APR in your main hand while eliminating your off-hand attack entirely.

Interesting! Maybe they've fixed this in BGEE.

What about Improved Haste (http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/bg2/character/spells/wizard/wizardspell.asp?lvl_id=6&file_name=ImprovedHaste.htm&title=Improved+Haste ), how would that work (in theory) when dual-wielding with something like Belm?

Well I did some testing with a character wielding a sword in the main hand and kundane (provides an extra attack just like belm) in the off hand. So non-hasted he gets 3 APR (2 main hand, one off hand). Improved haste functioned just as you'd expect, giving him a total of 4 APR with his main hand, 2 APR off hand. It's interesting to note that haste actually works by halving the duration of the characters round (from 6 seconds to 3) with regards to their attacks.

This is all in BG2 with BG2 fixpack installed, no idea if it's any different in vanilla.

Also I'm pretty sure the bug with haste that I mentioned earlier is fixed for BG:EE.

I was going to reply to this recently, but I see that TJ_Hooker dropped a knowledge bomb. Good work.
