How does the multiplayer work?

How do I play with my friend on our PCs? I heard they are unfinished with the matchmaking in this? So how will I connect to a friend's game? Also, how does the online co-op work exactly?

    If I recall correctly the creator of the game will have to give his IP address out to the people planning on joining. Then you can join by using that. The specific instructions in this regard can be found in the BGEE Manual #1 which you can find here. Page 71 using the manuals (not PDF) pages is where it is.
