BG:EE Easter Eggs

In the section labelled "Zooming In and Out" in the manual PDF, Volo has an interesting line: "Look closely at your surroundings; you might be surprised at what you find!"

Is this a hint to possible easter eggs? Perhaps something too small to be seen without the new zoom feature? What do you guys think, are there going to be any/very many easter eggs added? Think they'll be obvious if they're in there(Bub Snikt, anyone?) or a little more subtle like this:

Thoughts?

They may have just been referring to the handful of "hidden" items in the game, like...
the Ankheg armor in Nashkel, the Frost wand near the mines, or the Wizard's ring near the Friendly Arms Inn.

You have to look really closely for them, as the clickable areas to open the containers are only a few pixels wide.
