[Request] Item Flags

BoasterBoaster Member Posts: 622
We need some Flags for weapon/armor modifiers that allow Modders to determine whether the effect takes place before, at the same time, or after certain other modifiers.

Flag #1: Before, During, or After Level modifiers.
Flag #2: Before, During, or After Damage Roll.

Flag 1 is described in this thread: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/29/attacks-per-round-item-bonus#latest
Level 7 Warrior
Item sets Attacks per Round to 1.
Actual Attacks per Round is 1½.

Flag 2 is described in this thread: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/526/request-weapon-effects-striking-damage#latest
Presently, all weapon effects apply after damage rolls are calculated. The same would apply if you wanted an item that would ignore up to 2 AC of the target. A modifier would have to be added to an Attack to reduce AC by 2 (plus 2 AC) and have a temporary duration on it. And again, AC would be reduced after the attack and the following attacks in the next, say 6 seconds (per duration of the modifier), would hit the target easier. And even so, with an item modifying AC by 2, it could be temporarily stacked.

The consequences of not changing these, is that Item "Effects" remain limited or flawed.

Bear in mind, this is sort of a "re-post" of these feature requests, but I've consolidated the two into this one thread.

Who could possibly disagree with this, I wonder? Is there some kind of secret anti-modders society working whithin our lines? LOL

my only guesstamation is that some people dont like mods, because they love pure vanilla, im kinda the same way, but i wouldnt throw a disagree in there though, because modders usually try and add flavor to that vanilla, kind of like putting that cherry/sprinkles on top, seriously who doesnt like sprinkles on their ice cream?

Even if it's a matter of being vanilla purist, how does it affect these people that the game is more moddable? This is just silly, if they like vanilla that much, why would they even come here, they can play old / ugly (resolution-wise) / buggy / incomplete BG1. I'm just hoping it's a missclick or someone not understanding the request.

Hah. Yeah. If someone is such a purist, maybe they should make a mod that uses ALL the rules strictly as they are.

Or just continue using the older un-enhanced edition. :P
