Did the concept of swappable "weapon sets" not get implemented in BGEE?

I remember reading here some discussion that easily-swappable "weapon sets" were going to be implemented for BGEE, so that you could, for example, easily swap between sword and shield to bow, but I can't see any reference to this in manuals. Was this dropped completely, or will this useful feature be made available post-launch?

All the talk of weapon proficiencies in other threads got me wondering this exact same thing.

Can anyone confirm whether or not this feature made it into the release version, and if not whether it is planned as a post-release feature?

    I'm almost positive it's a post-release idea.

It's been made pretty clear (from what i've picked up) that it will -not- feature in the initial release. There seems to be a will to add it as a dlc/patch later on though, but there's been no promise of such.

I believe a request for this was my very first post on this forum, come to think of it ;)

@Quartz has it right. It didn't quite get working for launch.

No worries, would *love* to see it added soon, though! :-)

It's also that implementation would involve alterations to the creature file format, which will cause compatibility issues with mods. The BGEE devs have been doing their best to implement new features without breaking backwards compatibility.

I don't care so much about weapon sets.

This is what I propose. Your offhand weapon will automatically be equiped if you equip a 1 handed primary hand weapon. If you switch to a 2 handed primary weapon, the offhand weapon automatically un-equips. The offhand could even stay shown as equiped in the inventory. When you switch back to a 1 handed primary weapon, the offhand is re-equiped.\

Basically, whether shown equiped or not, offhand only takes effect if the primary is 1 handed.

Wouldn't this just be a UI issue?

What if you want to switch between sword and shield and dual-wielding, though? I actually do this quite alot, depending on the situation (e.g. if lots of enemy archers are about, a shield might be a better choice than dual-wielding)

I don't think they ever promised anything concerning this. Its just my personal hope that they improve the GUI post-release so that we can get something similar to IWD2.

Please a new GUI, a new inventory screen, no blue... and yes similar to iwd2 is a good option
