Importing Characters Between Games Gone?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I tried creating a character in ToB and then importing it into SoA, but it didn't seem to work. I used to be able to do this. Has the feature been removed or am I not remembering how to do it properly?

Also, what about importing a SoA character into BG?
