Summon Immunities?

Any way to check directly?

What I've found so far:

1) Animated Dead --- AoE cloud attack immunity (poison?)
2) Fire Elementals --- Fire damage (Fireball etc.)

Read about:
3) Shaman Dance animals --- cold, electricity/lightning, poison --- start resistant, immune at higher levels

What are the immunities for Water and Earth elementals? What about other summons? Especially interested in what AoE spells they can shrug off

Direct checking is possible, but for that you need to use NearInfinity (on PC).

    1. Monsters summoned by Animate Dead have immunity to cold damage, poison (and thus to Cloudkill), disease, mind effecting spells, paralysation and stun effects, and instant death (slay) effects. Also skeletons particularly have 50% resistance to slashing, piercing and missile damage.
    2. Among the elementals only the Fire Elemental has fire immunity, the rest of them, unfortunately, have no special immunities.
    3. All shamanic dance creatures have 50% resistance to all forms of physical damage as well as poison, disease and mind effecting spells. However, they don't appear to have any kind of cold or lightning damage resistance. On the contrary, the fire, earth and air spirits have elemental weaknesses to cold, acid and electrical damage respectively (though the fire spirits have fire immunity as well).

Summons are not very tough decoys, in case you are using that tactic. The best way for such a strategy is to cast the Protection from Fire/Cold/Electricity/Acid/Magical Energy line of spells (according to the AoE spell the you intend to use) on your tank, send him into the fray and let the monsters gather around him, and then bombard the area with offensive AoE spells. ;)

A wall of Zombies is livelier than classic tanks on HOF difficulty... although on Insane, a levelled stoneskinned and mirror imaged Dragon Disciple is ok-ish for pelting with fire spells and casting at his own feet
